The proposed studio process
Make space before making motion.
An exhibition begins with a conversation, not an effect. Our proposed process asks what a new encounter can offer, what it might obscure, and whether the work needs it at all.
Look, listen, agree
Start with the artwork and the creator's account, where they choose to provide one. Record factual details separately from interpretive ideas. Discuss possible forms: a still image with context may serve the work better than an elaborate sequence.
Before production, agree on the scope, contributors, credits, permitted uses, and review points. A proposed treatment should show what it adds and what it leaves alone. Uncertainty should be written down rather than smoothed into confident copy.
Artist agency in practiceReview the encounter, not only the file
A film can play correctly and still misrepresent its source. Artistic review asks whether framing, movement, words, and sound create a responsible interpretation. Technical review asks whether the experience works. Publication permission is another decision; passing one review does not replace the others.
This process is proposed, not an available commissioning service. Future collaborations would also need confirmed terms, access materials, and a clear route for corrections before release.
