MAIKEFILMS MAIKE Films

Artist agency

The maker stays in the picture.

An artwork is not raw material waiting for a platform to give it meaning. Collaboration begins by recognizing the maker's choices, the work's existing life, and the limits of any new interpretation.

Questions before production

What may be shown, and in what form? Which details need context? Is there a story the artist wants to share, or a silence the work needs to keep? A useful conversation makes room for refusal as well as possibility. Not every artwork needs animation, narration, or a film.

Agree on attribution before making the experience. Distinguish the originating artwork from writing, performance, music, and moving-image contributions. Do not turn an editor's reading into a statement attributed to the artist.

Interpretation without replacement

Permission has a shape

A proposed collaboration should identify the material, the permitted uses, the review process, and where it may appear. Permission to photograph a work does not settle every question about a film or a sale. These decisions belong in explicit agreements, not assumptions.

This is a statement of working principles, not a roster or an invitation to upload. Artist submissions and a collaboration contact path are not open.
